Support the Singers

     "I had a wonderful time and learned a lot about both musicianship and my own capacity for singing. Performing with the musicians in The Philadelphia Singers, showed me that people can continue to be involved in music throughout their lives."

Philadelphia’s Chorus

Philadelphia’s Premier Chorus, The Philadelphia Singers is a leading contributor to our community’s vibrant cultural life. Its distinction as a professional ensemble enables The Philadelphia Singers to present choral performances ranging from renowned classical masterworks to innovative contemporary works. The Philadelphia Singers is dedicated to both upholding and strengthening our rich choral tradition. We value the importance of expanding the choral repertoire and enriching the choral art by commissioning and performing significant new works.

The Philadelphia Singers is also committed to building partnerships with educational institutions and peer arts organizations. Engaging students in the choral art provides a unique artistic experience that builds musicianship and artistry, and encourages social interaction that deepens students’ connections with the music and their community. Through our concerts and education programs, The Philadelphia Singers develops the choral audience and nurtures future performers.

A significant increase in support is crucial to meet current financial challenges and is imperative for the future of The Philadelphia Singers and our region’s distinction as a vibrant cultural center. A substantially larger Annual Fund will create a healthier and stronger organization allowing The Philadelphia Singers to:

  • Maintain dynamic artistic leadership;
  • Present a musically diverse 2010-2011 concert series with works by J.S. Bach and James MacMillan;
  • Commission a new choral work by Philadelphia composer David Shapiro;
  • Attract and retain top vocal artists;
  • Maintain our distinguished role as Resident Chorus of The Philadelphia Orchestra;
  • Engage up-and-coming as well as established solo artists;
  • Expand our Mentor program to include students throughout the Delaware Valley;
  • Establish The Philadelphia Singers as the leader in the performance, preservation, and cultivation of American Choral Music.
