The Philadelphia Singers teams up with our city's supreme baroque orchestral ensemble Tempesta di Mare for a post New Year's concert featuring John Blow's “Ode for New Year's Day,” “Great sir, the joy of all our hearts,” and Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata, BWV 198, Trauerode.

The glorious 150-voice Philadelphia Singers Chorale backed by the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and flanked by brass in the balconies will perform William Walton's mammoth, Handel-influenced Belshazzar's Feast. It will be complimented with choruses from John Adams' dramatic opera The Death of Klinghoffer, performed by 50 voices from The Philadelphia Singers' fully professional ensemble. This is the Keynote Concert of the 2009 Chorus America National Conference, hosted by The Philadelphia Singers.
