The Philadelphia Singers frequently presents Choral Conducting Master Classes for conducting students at area colleges and universities. These master classes have focused on choral repertoire including Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Symphony No. 9, Mozart’s Solemn Vespers and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass. The master class provides conducting students with the opportunity to discuss, analyze, and practice their choral conducting technique under the guidance of David Hayes. The session will introduce participants to the differences as well as the similarities between conducting a chorus and an orchestra and how to listen to as well as rehearse a professional chorus.
